A busy first IBC for the newly launched Ultra HD Forum
Over 20 members demonstrating solutions at prestigious broadcasters’ convention
Fremont, California, September 7th 2015: The Ultra HD Forum has over 20 members showing solutions and demonstrating Ultra HD television at IBC 2015. UHD demos of both file-based and live HDR content will be shown by ARRIS, BBright, Dolby, DTG, Envivio, Ericsson, Fraunhofer, Harmonic, NeuLion, Sony, Sigma Designs, STMicroelectronics, Vanguard Video and Vixs. As part of the IBC Conference proceedings the Ultra HD Forum has organized an informational MasterClass on Ultra High Definition Television that will take place on Friday September 11th from 16:00 until 17:30 in Rooms G102/103 of the RAI. It will feature a wide range of speakers giving different perspectives including those of Broadcasters and Service Operators, Consumer Electronics manufacturers, Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) and other technology providers. “As with most critical breakthroughs in our market, there are many ways to harness advances in technology to get the best step jump in user experience,” said David Price, Vice Chair of the Forum and Vice President, Business Development at Ericsson, one of the Founders of the Ultra HD Forum. “The need for events like the MasterClass is critical in pushing the debate on the best way we can collectively get there.”
The MasterClass has been made possible with free admission for all IBC attendees through the Platinum Sponsorship provided by Ericsson, and the Gold Sponsorship provided by Dolby Laboratories, Harmonic and NAB Labs.
In addition, that evening from 18:30 until 21:30 on Friday September 11th, the Forum will host a Networking Party / Reception made possible through sponsorship by DTS and Dolby Laboratories, at the historic Molenzolder bar at the Heineken Experience, Stadhouderskade 78, Amsterdam. This event is by invitation from Ultra HD Forum members only.
