  • Protocols, Codecs, and Formats: A State of the Industry

Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:00am (PST)

Here we are, the end of 2022 and still no clear “winner” regarding how streaming is encoded and delivered. But that’s not all bad. Although multiple codecs and protocols aren’t ideal for streaming workflow complexity, it’s also not the end of the world for operators who are thoughtful and careful about their selections. In this webinar, we will explore the current state of protocols (such as QUIC and WebRTC), Codecs (H265, VP9, and others), and Formats (CMAF, MPEG-Dash, etc.) in relation to adoption and usage, as well as provide some best practices on managing the complexity of having to utilize more one in any category.
