Why Did Cadami Join the Streaming Video Technology Alliance?

CADAMI offers innovative solutions that combine coding, caching and communication efficiently and in novel ways. Our solutions have typically been used in closed systems managed by a single entity. However, we are now on a mission to enter new domains, particularly within the Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and broadcasting ecosystems. These domains emphasize openness, standardization, and interoperability. To align our products with industry standards and actively contribute to their development, we have joined the SVTA.

What Do You Believe is the Biggest Technical Challenge Facing the Streaming Video Industry the SVTA Can Help Address?

The challenge of making media content and entertainment available to everyone includes reaching people who don’t have internet access, have limited connectivity, or are frequently traveling on high-speed trains or planes. To overcome this challenge, we need innovative solutions that bridge the digital divide, improve content delivery, and ensure that everyone can access it easily, no matter where they are or what their circumstances are.

One important strategy for achieving universal access is edge caching, which involves storing content close to the user or even on the user’s device. To make this work effectively, we need to plan and optimize streaming methods, network connectivity, and cache management jointly. SVTA’s Open Caching framework is well-suited to address this challenge.

How Does an Organization Like the SVTA Bring Value to the Industry?

The SVTA brings value to the streaming video industry by promoting standards, fostering innovation through collaboration, and sharing industry knowledge. Smaller startups like Cadami can actively contribute to this ecosystem. SVTA’s inclusive approach accelerates innovation and knowledge-sharing, benefiting the industry as a whole.
