Accessibility

Overview

For people with visual, auditory, or other impairments, trying to enjoy streaming video can be challenging especially across different providers. That’s because there is little standardization around how to build or implement technologies to help those viewers. The streaming industry needs to take accessibility standards from broadcast, evolve them to apply to streaming, and settle on a collective approach to building and implementing meaningful solutions for impaired viewers.

Objectives

This SVTA sub-group is focused on aligning on non-proprietary best practices that improve streaming video accessibility for users who have visual, auditory, or other impairments.
