Understanding SVTA Intellectual Property Rights

As a technical association, all of our ratified documents are covered under an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy that all members agree to. But, because the SVTA has absorbed other organizations, such as OATC and DASH-IF, the documents published prior to their acquisition still fall under their respective IPRs.

To provide for greater transparency, we are listing those IPR policies below (click on the policy to access it’s record and download a PDF copy). Additionally, each document record on the website lists the respective IPR.

Version Notes

This IPR is slightly modified from the 1/14/2025 version to account for some language modifications that were missed in the 1/14/2025 revision:

  • 2.10: ensuring the definition of RAND License used in the document included everyone, rather than just SVTA members
  • 4.4: this section was removed as it was contradictory to changing the RAND licensing to everyone
  • 4.8: removal of reference to class of licensee so that it applies to everyone
