  • Optimizing Cloud-Based Workflows

Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10:00am (PT)

Many streaming operators have embraced the cloud for encoding and transcoding, delivery, analytics, and more. And not only that, but oftentimes the functions of the streaming workflow that have been transitioned to the cloud are often spread over multiple clouds to ensure redundancy and reliability of the overall service. That creates complications for both management of the streaming service and expanding architecture. This webinar will explore how operators can improve performance, security, stability, and scalability as they continue to embrace cloud technologies like containers and serverless functions. The discussion will focus on the challenges operator’s face with increasingly cloud-based workflows and how they might be solved.

Webinar Recording

Topics Covered

  1. Where are we seeing the most benefit from streaming components in the cloud? Benefit could be performance, cost, etc.
  2. How has multi-cloud deployment complicated streaming workflows? Are many streaming providers deploying components across cloud providers?
  3. What is the impact of cloud-based streaming workflows on development? Is integration easier or harder?
  4. Has containerization and virtualization played a big role in the development and deployment of streaming workflow components to the cloud? What are the challenges and how have streaming operators tackled them?
  5. What operational changes have streaming providers needed to make to support more cloud-based deployment? How is ensuring a high QoS impacted by the cloud?
  6. As the cloud continues to expand outward, how might streaming providers push more technology to the edge? What components in particular and what would be the benefit?
  7. How will serverless functions play a role in the future of streaming architectures? Can it provide more scalability, redundancy, and performance?
  8. As more components move to the cloud, what telemetry/data will streaming providers need to optimize performance and ensure a high-level of QoS/QoE?
  9. Are there any new cloud-based technologies or approaches coming in the next 12 months which streaming operators might be able to take advantage of?
